We recognize that the affection between children and dogs can sometimes be hindered by a lack of understanding in how to interact. We invite you to enroll your young companions in a meticulously designed class, facilitated by dedicated instructors who share a profound love for dogs, nurtured since their own early years. Our goal is to empower your children with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage with dogs in a manner that ensures comfort and mutual affection.

While you won’t bring your dog to this class, there will be dogs! We’ll demonstrate how to approach a dog you don’t know safely and in a way that the dog will approve of. Dogs communicate through body language, and we’ll teach a little about this secret language so you can speak it too. Watch demonstrations with the instructor’s dogs and help identify what was right and what was wrong with the interactions.

Dogs, just like people, have unique behavioral tendencies influenced by their breed and group dynamics. Our workshop delves into the fascinating world of canine group behavior, shedding light on how different group dynamics impact their conduct. We’ll also explore how adapting your behavior when interacting with specific types of dogs can yield more positive interactions.

In this workshop you will:

  • Interact with dogs, offering them much-appreciated affection
  • Learn techniques for approaching unfamiliar dogs and winning their favor
  • Learn about the language our dogs speak – dog body language
  • Watch demonstrations featuring our instructors’ dogs and learn to distinguish right from wrong when interacting with dogs
  • Discuss etiquette when walking your own dog or encountering dogs in the community
  • Receive practical advice on managing situations where a dog may exhibit nipping or biting tendencies
  • Delve into the world of diverse canine groups, their behavioral patterns, and discover how modifying your approach according to the type of dog can lead to more positive interactions
