Fun Fact
Developed in the Brittany region of France hundreds of years ago, they were prized by medieval hunters and poachers because of their all-around versatility. Originally called the Brittany Spaniel, the AKC dropped the word ‘spaniel’ from the name because the American breed fancy determined the dogs are less flushing dogs like spaniels and more of a pointing breed.
