This past Wednesday night while coming home- I received a call that nobody likes. Our Cairn Terrier- Bailey ran out our back door. Bailey, being the turbo charged bullet that he is-LOVES to run. I should mention that you can practically see his sparkling whites smiling at you as he bounces away…this is his fun, NOT ours.
We were unable to locate him. Not a good feeling- knowing your 20 lb pet is out alone, at night- in the rain, near a major intersection. After staying up until 3am searching for him, I contacted every place I could think of… craigslist, local shelters, animal control, police dept, Facebook, you name it.
Immediately after posting our pups picture on Craigslist a wonderful lady emailed me a “Mimi Alert” and asked if this was my dog- it wasn’t, but that put me in touch with Patty at Kennelwood.
Patty called me first thing in the morning and sent out the “Mimi Alert” for our little Bailey to the Kennelwood database. She was kind, helpful and quick to respond.
By 9:30am- our neighbor had contacted us (who knows Bailey)- they found the little rugrat and were keeping him in their house until we could get him. Relief.
Around Noon I received a phone call from a gentleman that lives in an adjacent neighborhood, he tells me that he received the “Mimi” alert and he found my dog the night before and kept him safe, dry and fed overnight (how awesome is that!?)- only for Bailey to take off again when he let him outside in the morning (our dog is a stinker.)
So now their is no guessing what happened to him overnight- I was terrified Bailey was running the streets in danger on a cold, rainy, night- only to find out that he was pampered, fed and then decided to head home in the morning.
Thank you Mimi Alerts for unlocking the mystery of Bailey Copperfield…

Hi, I wanted to tell your readers how much of a wonderful job your Kennelwood employees did when our dog Oscar ran off on Sunday evening. He was due to be picked up Monday morning to be transferred to the airport to join my son in San Francisco. We were so thankful that a man was able to find him and take him to the Animal Control Center. PLEASE, if you know of this happening to someone or yourself, please use Kennelwood’s website to list the missing animal at Missing Pets, it works. My alert went out to 2000 people in my zip code.

Dear Patty,
I just wanted to thank you and Kennelwood for helping me to reunite the dog I found with it’s loving and worried owner. Since the animal had no collar or microchip, I wasn’t sure how to find it’s home. Your Mimi Alert was the perfect answer! It distributed the dog’s photo and my contact information to a large group of people much faster than I ever could have. Just a few minutes later, a very relieved owner was calling to claim her pet.
Thanks for providing such a wonderful service to the pet loving community!
Sincerely,
Erin K.

Here is my true success story. I am a senior citizen and thought it would be good to have a pet. I found a rescue Cockapoo in Belleville, IL and fell in love with her. She needed lots of TLC and some medical assistance to get her healthy again. We went to a 6 weeks training class, mostly for me, she already knew more than I. But since I live in a condo, and not used to all the responsibilities of owning a pet, I realized she needed a home with a fenced yard and lots more activity than I could provide.
I had Taffy groomed at Kennelwood and they were wonderful. So I e-mailed Patty the miracle Pet Matchmaker and asked for her help. That same day, Taffy’s new owner-to-be was looking for a cockapoo and called Patty at noon. Now, that is not only success but a miracle that was meant to be. I miss her, but happy to know she is healthy and doing well in her new home.
This is a wonderful service to provide for both owners and pets looking for a home. Thank you!
