Joey has always had a fascination with dogs. As a teenager, he got his first dog, Buffy, and realized he had a strong interest in training. In 2009, he began working with Kennelwood in the DayCamp department where he had access to so many different types of dogs and could really study dog language and their interactions. After researching more about training and what was involved, his heart was set.  He was accepted into the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers in Fairfield, CA. There he became certified in puppy development, basic and advanced obedience, and protection sports. He developed a strong interest in K9 Nosework. His specialty is working with dogs with high energy and high drive. Joey is a certified Canine Good Citizen evaluator and he competes in dock diving.  “My favorite part of being a trainer is the thrill of helping people communicate with their pets and seeing the bond grow right before my eyes. It is such a wonderful thing to witness and be a part of. I am so lucky to do what I love every single day.” Joey’s love clearly shows with his relationships with his two-legged and four-legged clients. One client remarked of his work, “Joey is a magician!”
