(St. Louis, MO ) Recognizing the challenges the Kalbfleisch family faced with the Columbia, IL School District not allowing their son Carter to attend school with his service dog; Alan Jones on behalf of Kennelwood Pet Resorts immediately realized that Kennelwood’s services could help their situation. In a letter sent to the Kalbfleisch family’s attorney, Alan extended an offer to bath, groom and Shed-X® Corbin complimentary as often as needed. Frequent bathing, grooming, and Shed-X® treatments will help eliminate excess hair and dander, which reduces and addresses any allergy concerns. The family has accepted Alan’s offer with open arms and Corbin made his first visit to Kennelwood for his complimentary bath, groom, and Shed-X® on Friday, September 25th.
Corbin was so great and the story has touched so many of the Kennelwood employee’s hearts that Sue Moore, a Kennelwood groomer, has volunteered to bath, groom, and Shed-X® Corbin “off the clock,” as she would like to donate her time towards an important cause. Corbin will be visiting Kennelwood at least once a month, if not more. He is scheduled to return to Kennelwood’s South County location at the beginning of October.
Kennelwood is thrilled that we can not only help with keeping Corbin groomed, but also help educate children about pet care and what Corbin does during his days at Kennelwood Pet Resorts. Sarah Drew, Kennelwood Pet Resort’s public relations and brand manager suggested to Corbin’s mom that the school create a Corbin’s corner with pictures and information about Corbin and his days at Kennelwood. This information not only shows the school that the Kalbfleisch family is doing their part to keep Corbin groomed for his days in the classroom, but also offers an educational opportunity for the children. When Kennelwood’s South County Manager, Megan Ryan provided Corbin’s mom with pictures of his first bath, groom and Shed-X® treatment. We hope that these pictures make it to Carter and Corbin’s new classroom.
Kennelwood welcomes the Kalbfleisch family into our Kennelwood Pet Resort family and we are excited to have the opportunity to help them in a very challenging time! For more information about this story please contact Sarah Drew at 314.446.1021 or email sdrew@kennelwood.com.
