(May 11, 2009) –Recognizing the need for a professionally run, full-service boarding, grooming, and training pet facility in St. Louis, Donald Danforth Jr., founder of Kennelwood, opened his first Kennelwood Village in May of 1974 at Page and Lindbergh. Kennelwood Village quickly met with success and has been instrumental throughout its history in developing proprietary products, as well as, innovative concepts such as, the Pet Suites, Board ‘n Train, DayCamp, and SHED-X® Treatments. Five additional Kennelwood locations were added, making that a total of six Kennelwood locations throughout the St. Louis area.
As Kennelwood continued growing and expanding, Chris Danforth, Donald Danforth’s son, came onboard to bring Kennelwood into the 21st century with a “New Look, and Same Love,” says Danforth. Chris along with his Marketing team repositioned and reinvented the overall brand image, including renaming Kennelwood Village to Kennelwood Pet Resorts. Kennelwood carries on the tradition of being a leader in the pet industry and will continue to be a leader in the future of our business.
Today, Kennelwood would like to invite you on May 20th and May 21st to celebrate 35 yeas of wagging tails. Kennelwood has planned many great activities for everyone to enjoy.
