No matter what your lifestyle and budget, Kennelwood Pet Resorts has basic dog training options to fulfill your needs! Group class training programs help to teach you to train your pet. Puppy, Beginner, Novice, Open/Utility, Rally and Baby Steps classes are all available Kennelwood group training classes.
Puppy class meets one hour a week for 5 weeks. This class is for puppies 9 to 20 weeks of age. The focus is on socialization, with dominance and leadership skills also covered. The commands of come, sit, down and stay are introduced, as well as correcting behavior problems like jumping, nipping and biting. Beginner class meets one hour a week for 6 weeks. This basic dog training class is for dogs 5 months of age and over. The focus is on teaching the correct response to obedience commands such as come, sit, down, stay and heel, even with other dogs and people present. Novice class meets one hour a week for 8 weeks. This class is for dogs that have already completed the Beginner Class. Novice class works towards greater attention and precision with commands the dog already knows, as well as introducing new exercises and providing the groundwork for obedience trial competition.
Open/Utility class meets one hour a week for 8 weeks as well. This class is for dogs that have completed the Novice Class and are competing in obedience trials and working towards completing their titles. Rally class also meets one hour a week for 8 weeks. This class is for dogs that have completed the Beginner Class and are competing in the new and fun sport of Rally. Our newest class, Baby Steps, meets one time for one and a half hours. This class is designed to help expectant parents prepare their pet for a new baby. Baby Steps is for people, not pets. The class includes lecture, discussion and information necessary to familiarize your pet with your new baby, and help keep the entire family safe and happy.
